Séminaire #3 : IA & Supply chain
4 external multi-sector interventions
2 research insights
1 immersion in the heart of the Renault Guyancourt site
June 20, 2024

For the third seminar of 2024, Renault Group's supply chain teams took up the theme of AI integration in the supply chain, with a focus on data, tools & technologies, and HR & organizational impacts.

On June 20 and 21, 2024, nearly 60 participants gathered for the Chair's third seminar dedicated to the integration of artificial intelligence in the supply chain. A hybrid experience, between face-to-face meetings at Renault's sites in Guyancourt and Boulogne, and participation via videoconferencing, which enabled participants to explore the transformations underway in the supply chain in the age of AI.

Seminar highlights

  • Key lessons: New AI use cases demonstrated significant advances compared to the Chair's first seminar in 2022, confirming the momentum towards an autonomous supply chain.
  • Recognized expertise: Key contributions from players such as Mistral AI, CMA CGM, Ceva Logistics and Socotec, complemented by scientific insights from teams at ENPC-Cermics and Polytechnique-CMAP.
  • A rewarding immersion: At the heart of the Renault site in Guyancourt, exchanges and experience sharing between the Chair's industrial partners (Renault, Michelin, Louis Vuitton, Decathlon, Argon & co) to anticipate AI innovations applied to industry and supply chain professions.

The topics covered

  • Data structuring: The importance of ontology in naming and organizing information.
  • Impact on trades: Reflections on the evolution of roles, particularly that of the demand planner.
  • Adopting generative AI: Levers for successful change management and employee support.
  • Measuring impact: The importance of rigorous monitoring of ROI criteria, such as budget, number of use cases or teams involved.

Continued momentum

The seminar highlighted areas for further development, including the link between assortment optimization and supply chain, or the use of AI to improve employee onboarding.

Future meetings are planned between the Chair's partners to continue sharing the respective progress made by the teams on the use cases of artificial intelligence applied to the supply chain, and to collectively anticipate the evolutions associated with supply chain transformations.
